Leading Electronics Company Agrees Move to 'New Look' Brierley Hill
Leading consumer electronics company Siemssen, part of the MPC Group, has agreed to take 6,400 sq ft of accommodation at “Waterfront House”, formerly the Deckhouse, in Brierley Hill and plans to move into its totally refurbished, tailor-made accommodation between Christmas and the New Year – later this year. The new HQ will provide predominantly office space but the company will also have two showrooms where it can show its goods to visiting customers.
The company which already operates in Germany, Italy and Spain, is new to the UK but already supplies consumer electronic goods – LCD TVs, TVs, DVDs and the like – to major UK outlets including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Woolworths and Comet. The company has an annual turnover of around £45 million.
MD Chris Gidney says the move to the new HQ from its current base in Kingswinford is driven by two key concerns – the need for more space and the desire to be part of a prestigious new development area: “The business has grown rapidly and we clearly needed more space, and importantly space that met our specific requirements. This move will see the existing building gutted and refurbished exactly to our specification, meaning we will be able to move in and operate far more efficiently than we can at present, pretty much from ‘day 1’.
“But we are impressed by the plans for the whole area and the new development that will be taking place, driven by the Brierley Hill Regeneration Plan. The new offices at Daniels Wharf and the residential development along the canalside will make this a very impressive place to live and work. We wanted to be in on the ‘ground floor’ of this upgrade. Increasingly we are welcoming guests to our premises and we feel that our new home will create the impression that we want our guests to get when they come to see us.”
Tim Sunter, Chief Executive of the Brierley Hill Regeneration Partnership is delighted to welcome Siemssen to the area: “This is another example of a quality company seeing the new look Brierley Hill and the work we are doing here, as an excellent reason to be part of the exciting re-development we are creating.”
